At approximately 5:00 pm on Wednesday 18 September 2013, Israeli naval vessels patrolling the Gaza sea opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats off the coast west of Gaza city.
The Palestinian fishermen were six nautical miles away from the coast when the Israeli boat opened fire at them.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, the Israeli gunboats opened heavy fire at a Palestinian fishing boat causing damage to the winch which fall and hurt fisherman Saleem Khaleel Al Faseeh, 58.
He was referred to Shifa hospital and one of his fingers was amputated.
