At approximately 6:30 pm on 30th April 2013, Israeli navy vessels opened fire on Palestinian fishermen off the coast in Deir Al Balah and An-Nuseira. The Palestinian fishing boats were located at a distance of 2.5 nautical miles off the shore. The Israeli fire that lasted sporadically for two hours forced the Palestinian fishermen to leave their livelihoods and withdraw to the shore
