At approximately 10:00 am on Tuesday 24 April 2012, Israeli naval vessels patrolling the Gaza sea opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats about 2.
5 nautical miles northwest of Al Waha resort in North Gaza district.
The Israeli gunboats surrounded the Palestinian vessels and forced two fishermen on board one boat to take off their clothes and swim to an Israeli ship.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) then arrested the two and confiscated their boat.
Al Mezan has identified those detained as Nader Yousif Abu Sam’an, 22, and his brother, a minor, Hasan Yousif Abu Sam’an, 17.
They were released in the late evening hours on the same day.
The two live in the Ash-Shalleyhat area in Gaza City.
