At approximately 16:00 on Sunday, 20 November 2011, medical sources at the Gaza European Hospital announced the death of Abdel Hameed Shehada Ahmed, 69, while he was having surgery to remove a bullet from his abdomen. According to police investigations, Mr Ahmed was injured due to the mishandling of a weapon while at home in the Al Shaboura neighbourhood in Rafah refugee camp.
