On 18 August 2006 at approximately 11:00pm, unknown armed persons opened fire on the house of Shehda Ateia, in Abasan Al Saghira area. No causalities were reported. In another incident which took place on 16 August in eastern Khan Younis, a child was killed and 4 others wounded as a result of exchange of fire between two armed groups.
