On Sunday 29th April 2013, at approximately 2:00 am, an explosive device was detonated at the entrance of a house belonging to the secretary of Fatah Movement in Rafah Monther Ghazi Al Bardaweel in al Junina neighborhood in Rafah. The explosion caused minor property damage. Al Bardawil pointed out to Al Mezan that he was told by the government’s explosive engineering unit that the device was a 4-inche-thick explosive device which contained 1 kg of explosive material. Members of the police and Internal Security Service (ISS) arrived at the scene and conducted preliminary investigations into the incident.
