Short Link:
Gaza, 3 April 2025—On 2 April 2024, Israeli forces attacked the Jabaliya Clinic, an UNRWA medical facility in the Jabaliya refugee camp, where hundreds of displaced families had sought shelter after being forcibly displaced from their homes by repeated displacement orders and widespread destruction. The attack killed 18 Palestinians, including nine children and two women, and left dozens injured, many critically.
According to field reports, at approximately 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday, 2 April 2025, there were two successive explosions in the he northern and southern sides of the clinic’s first floor. The blasts caused fires to break out throughout the building, resulting in several casualties. Witnesses confirmed that two drones carried out the attack, directly hitting the clinic.
Sohad Mohammed Daher, one of the displaced individuals who had sought refuge in the clinic, described the incident: "We had had no choice but to take shelter here, along with hundreds of other displaced families, after Israeli forces resumed their military attacks on 18 March 2025. Our homes had been destroyed, and the repeated displacement orders left us with nowhere else to go. The clinic was overcrowded, filled mostly with women and children. I was preparing lunch for my family when two deafening explosions suddenly rocked the building. The entire structure shook violently, and thick smoke and debris filled the air. I could barely see anything, but I could hear people screaming all around me. Fire was unleashed in the sites of the explosions. Moments later, people rushed in to retrieve the bodies of the victims—mostly children. Many were severely injured and were rushed to hospital. Later, people outside the clinic told us they had seen two drones entering the building before exploding inside.”
Al Mezan vehemently condemns this massacre and other ongoing atrocities committed by Israeli forces in Gaza as part of a systematic campaign of genocide. The continued inaction of the international community has effectively enabled these crimes to continue resulting in the deaths of thousands of Palestinian civilians.
Al Mezan reiterates its urgent call to the international community to take immediate and concrete measures to stop Israel's genocide and protect Palestinian civilians. Al Mezan further stresses that Israel’s impunity must end. The only way to halt these atrocities is by activating international accountability mechanisms and ensuring that those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity face justice.
