82 Injured, Including Eight Children and Two Women, in Israeli Shooting at Demonstrators in Eastern Burij

At 10:30am on Friday, 13 April 2018, Israeli forces located on the southeastern borders of Burij refugee camp opened fire and launched tear-gas canisters at thousands of protesters joining the “Great Return March” demonstration, called for by a national committee of Palestinian factions to mark Land Day. The protesters called the third Friday of protesting “Friday of burning the Israeli flag”. 82 were injured, including eight children, two women, and ten Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics—51 by live bullets, including 6 children. The injuries were assessed to range from light to moderate. Gas inhalation injuries were dealt with in the field. Israeli shooting continued until 7:30pm on the same day.
