Israeli Forces Injure a Palestinian Man in Eastern Khan Younis City

At 01:00pm on Friday, 26 January 2018, Israeli forces opened fire and launched tear gas canisters at tens of young Palestinian men who assembled ten meters away from the borders in Khuza’a, Abasan and Al Qarara villages, in eastern Khan Younis. They joined a demonstration to protest the latest US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. They burnt tires and threw stones at Israeli forces behind the borders. Clashes continued for hours and led to the injury of Rawhi Nafez Kamel Al Najjar, 18, who sustained a bullet wound in his right leg. He was rushed to Nasser Hospital and then transferred to the Gaza European Hospital. His injury was described as moderate. Tens of demonstrators were affected by inhalation of tear gas.
