Short Link:
At approximately 01:00 pm on Friday, 22 October 2016, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire and fired tear gas grenades at tens of Palestinian young men and children who were demonstrating in eastern Al Bureij camp in protest of the US president’s recent announcement to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Demonstrators set tires on fire and threw stones at Israeli soldiers behind the border fence. The clashes caused the injury of 12 Palestinians, including 3 children. Nine persons sustained bullet wounds, including two kids, two sustained injuries with the gas canisters, and one person suffocated due to inhaling the tear gas. The PRCS ambulance crews admitted the wounded to Al Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al Balah and treated five cases in the field. It’s worth noting that one PRCS ambulance was targeted by a gas canister and its left window was broken. Clashed continued until 06:30 of the same day.
