At approximately 11:30 am on Friday, 20 January 2017, the body of Mohammed Rawhi Balata, 11, was found hanged in his house, in Al Atatra area, north of Beit Lahiya in North Gaza district.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, the child’s brothers found him tied from his neck and hanged in the window of his room with a metal chain.
He was admitted to Al Shifa Hospital as a dead body. The body was referred to the forensic department. Medical sources stated that he died due to a dislocation of his neck. The police opened an investigation into the incident.
