At approximately 9:30 AM on Sunday, 13 March 2016, Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stationed at the eastern borders opened fire at a group of civilians east of Al Shejaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. The civilians were gathering scrap metal to resell to factories for recycling. As a result of the shooting, Jamal Wael Hosni Zwayid, 18, resident of Al Daraj neighborhood in Gaza, sustained a bullet wound in his left hand and shrapnel in his abdomen and both legs. Medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital described his injury as moderate.
