Yousif Mohammed Al Shalalfa from Rafah was an energetic boy who liked to play with his bicycle, computer games, and marbles. “I’m now responsible for my nephews after the death of their parents. I really miss them all. I always try to be strong in front of the kids,” says his uncle Na’el, 22.
At approximately 7:30 am on Sunday, 3 August 2014, an Israeli drone fired a missile at the house of Mohammed Ijme’an Al Shalalfa. The house is located in Al Mawasi area in western Rafah. Yousif’s father, 42 and his mother, Khitam, 39, were killed instantly. Yousif was critically injured and pronounced dead at The Gaza European Hospital on 11 September 2014. He was 10 years old at the time of his death.
