Short Link:
Name: Waleed Mustafa Zo'rob
Date of birth: 2 October 2008.
Date of death: 2 August 2014
Five-year-old Waleed from the Tal Al Sultan area in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was a curious child. “He liked going to the beach to play with sand and build sand castles. He used to ask so many questions,” his father said.
During Israel’s military bombardment, Waleed’s mother moved, along with her children, to her father's house. When a humanitarian truce was declared, she decided to visit her sister before returning to their house. During the agreed ceasefire, Israeli forces attacked her sister’s house with war planes. The house was completely destroyed and 17 people were killed, including Waleed.
"I suffered a very bad emotional state after the killing of my family. I could not return home,” Waleed's father added.
