Fifty-one-day-old Karim from the Qobet Zra'a area in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was the youngest member of his family. He held the attention of the whole family. “He had four siblings. He was starting to recognize his family members and smile at them,” says his uncle Nidal.
On 29 July 2014, an Israeli warplane targeted Abdullah Ab Zeid’s three-storey house without warning. The house was completely destroyed while all of its inhabitants were inside. Nine people were instantly killed, including Karim, and twelve others were seriously injured.
