Short Link:
Name: Bisan Iyad Abdullah Abu Zeid "Bassulah" (Her nickname)
Date of birth: 9 December 2002
Date of death: 29 July 2014
Eleven-year-old Bisan from Qobet Zra'a in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was a kind, sociable, and joyful child. She watched the cartoon channels on TV and memorized the theme songs. She was an outstanding student at school. She liked to pretend her and her friends were in the classroom, and she would pretend to be the teacher. Her ambition was to be a teacher. “The sound of explosions scared her during the war,” her uncle Nedal says.
On 29 July 2014, an Israeli warplane targeted Abdullah Ab Zeid’s three-storey house without warning. The house was completely destroyed while all its inhabitants were inside. Nine people were instantly killed, including Bisan, and twelve others were seriously injured.
