Ten-year-old Angham from the Al Tanoor area in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was a spoilt child. She was very close to her father. Her best friend was her cousin. They would study and play together. She was a very competitive student at school.
On 1 August 2014, random Israeli shelling and bombing intensified against Rafah’s civilian areas. Angham's family decided to evacuate and find a safer shelter. As soon as they went outside the house, an Israeli drone directly targeted them with a missile. Three people were instantly killed, including Angham. Six others were seriously injured in the attack.
