Fifteen-year-old Ameer from Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was characterized by having a nervous personality. He was very kind with his siblings. His hobbies were playing football and riding bicycles. “His ambition was to be a doctor,” his surviving sister said.
On 1 August 2014, Israeli warplanes launched a missile at the Zo’rob family’s house, completely destroyed it with Ameer and 19 members of his family inside. Ameer’s sister woke up to find herself under the rubble. She kept moving, and slowly found her way out. Ameer was killed in the attack, along with fifteen members of his family.
