Seventeen-year-old Ahmed from Al Nasser in the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip was an active, obedient, and motivated child. His hobby was playing football. He liked to watch the World Cup Finals with his friends. He was an FC Barcelona fan. “He was very kind with his younger siblings and took care of them,” said his father Salim, who is 45 years old.
An Israeli drone launched two missiles at a group of people near the 'Abdeen family home at approximately 8:00 pm on 31 July 2014. Ahmed was seriously injured in the attack and was taken to the Al Najjar Hospital. He was transferred to the Gaza European Hospital afterwards. A few hours after the attack, Ahmed died from his injuries.
His friends said he was politically conscious and started to develop political opinions the year he was killed.
