Ahmed was from Al Shaburah refugee camp in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. He was a calm and shy boy. He was first in his class, having obtained 99.7%. He loved drawing. His mother wished him to be a doctor. “The happiest day for me was when he came back from school holding the certificate that said he was first in his class,” his father says.
On 2 August 2014, Israeli forces shelled a group of houses in Al Shaburah refugee camp in Rafah. The Eittah family home was destroyed with its inhabitants inside. Many people were killed including Ahmed. He was 12 years old.
