Date of Death: 24 July 2014
17-year-old Salem Mostafa Zaki Al Hadihdi from Khan Younis worked in a motorcycle workshop; he hoped to learn how to fix motorbikes and then set up a repair business. He was very close to his mother and used to help her with the cleaning and tidying. He really liked peaceful and quiet places and used to go out walking a lot. He really wanted to get his own room so he didn’t have to share with his brothers, but it wasn’t possible for Salem because of the family’s difficult economic situation. Al Hadihdi family and their neighbors left their home afraid of Israeli attacks. Salem decided to stay at his friend’s house, from the Shurrb family. On 24 July 2014, an Israeli warplane attacked the Shurrab family. Salem and his friend Naser Shurrab, 22, died on the spot.
