Fourteen-year-old Razan from Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip was supposed to start ninth grade soon. She was tall, smart and an active child. She helped her mother. “She was a smiley and laughing person, just like her mother. I built a nice room for her with a computer and everything she needed,” said her father said. “I’ve never seen such an energetic and active girl like Razan,” her teacher said.

On 20 July 2014, just before sunset, the Abu Jamee’s three-story house was bombarded by missiles by Israeli forces. There was no prior warning given. “It was a real massacre; twenty-six people were killed. Three people were injured and survived,” her father added.
