Date of death: 29 July 2014
Three-year-old Yazan from the Al Mahatah area in Khan Younis was born on a Friday. He started to walk and talk when he was only eleven months old. He was clean, organized, and an elegant child. “He used to help me when I was busy,” said his mother. He used to go with his father to the mosque to pray and he started memorizing the Quran. He was very smart and had a good memory. He loved his grandfather, who bought him a school bag and children’s books. “I promised him that I would take him to school. I planned to register him in the talented student’s school,” said his mother. She remains in a very poor emotional state since his death.
Four families, including the Mo’amar family, were living in the Al Dali building in Khan Younis when it was attacked. The building was bombarded by Israeli warplanes without warning. It was completely destroyed. Thirty-five people were killed, including Yazan.
