Name: Hosam Hosam Mohamed Abu Qainas
Date of Birth: 29 October 2007
Date of Death: 20 July 2014
6-year-old Hosam Hosam Mohamed Abu Qainas from Khan Younis was named after his father as his father had died when his mother was pregnant with him. He was a caring boy, especially towards his mother. He loved ‘Dabkeh’, the traditional Palestinian folk dance, and singing. “He hoped to be a police officer when he grew up,” said his mother, Mayssa, 26.
On 20 July 2014, an Israeli warplane attacked the house, while the Abu Qainas family members were preparing for their Ramadan breakfast. As a result, 26 people were killed, including Hosam.
