Thirteen-year-old Donia from the Maan area in Khan Younis was a very nice girl. She liked her relatives and neighbors’ children and she used to take care of them. “When the children visited her grave, they said “we miss you Donia”,” said her aunt.
At approximately 9:15 pm on 28 July 2014, an Israeli warplane launched a missile a Nader Atta Fadel El-Agha’s house, without any prior warning. The house was full of civilians, including women and children. Most of them were killed. Donia was seriously injured. She died the next day while being operated on.
