One year old Salma from Block-7 in Al Bureij in the middle of the Gaza Strip was very close to her grandmother. She was very playful and liked to hide keys and mobile phones of other people all the time.
At 12:40 pm on 29 July 2014 when Salma was with her mother visiting her grandfather on the Eid holiday, her grandfather’s house was bombarded by Israeli warplanes. The missiles struck the house without prior warning. Seventeen people were killed, including Salma, at the age of one. “I imagine her all the time playing and running around me,” said her grandmother.
