Name: Samia Hamed Mohamed Al Sheikh Khalil
Date of birth: 5 October 2011
Date of death: 20 July 2014
Two-year-old Samia from Gaza City was the seventh among her siblings. She was like a toy for everyone around her; they loved carrying her and spoiling her. She was said to have intelligence features. She was very active and an energetic child. Every morning she went to see her grandfather to ask him to give her one shekel with which to buy cake. “She liked to sing and dance with her brothers and she quickly memorized the songs,” said her father.
On 20 July 2014, random Israeli shelling intensified on civilian houses in Samia’s neighborhood. She went with her family down to the ground floor of the house in search of shelter. An Israeli shell targeted them. Six people were killed on the spot including Samia.
