Rezeq Ahmed Al Hayik
Date of birth: 28 February 2013
Date of death: 18 July 2014
One-year-old Rezeq Ahmed Al Hayik from Gaza was said to be very clever. “When he was six months old, he started being able to distinguish between things,” said his father. Rezeq learned new things quickly and seemed to others to be ahead of his age. “Rezeq’a mother suffers from a heart disease and her doctors advised her not to get pregnant. But she took very good care of herself during the pregnancy,” said Rezeq’a father.
On 18 July 2014, when Rezeq was playing with his father, an Israeli missile struck their home. Rezeq’s parents were trying to move their children outside but they could not find Rezeq. They went in again to look for him. They found him lying on the ground with his intestines out and his head burned.
