Name: Noor Mahmoud Abdelbaset Abu Haseirah
Date of birth: 20 July 2011
Date of death: 20 August 2014
Three-year-old Noor from the Al Zaitoon neighborhood in Gaza City went to the grocery with her sister Lama. Lama went into the store and Noor stayed outside. A passing neighbor saw Noor and picked her up. At that moment, an Israeli missile hit them and both were killed on the spot. Lama was seriously injured in the attack and was transferred to Germany for appropriate medical care. She returned home in a state of guilt at having brought her sister Noor to the grocery store with her.
Noor was a smart, strong, sociable child. She started to talk when she was two and liked to chat with people. She liked to sing and dance while watching the Toyor Al Jannah children’s television channel. “She was the soul of the house and everybody loved her,” her mother says.
