Date of birth: 17 January 2005
Date of death: 20 July 2014
Nine-year old Fadi Ziyad Hasan Isleem from Gaza City was a funny boy; he liked to tell jokes. He helped his father at work selling clothes. He liked riding motorcycles and he held the prayer beads. He was close to his cousin Rami. “Fadi’s mother sees Fadi’s friends in the street and she says ‘I found Fadi’,” said Fadi’s aunt.
On 20 July 2014, during a heavy Israeli bombardment on Al Sheja’iya, Fadi’s neighborhood, Fadi’s family and neighbors decided to evacuate. Fadi and his family left the house together but in the chaos of the intensifying attacks by Israeli forces, Fadi, his brother Shadi, 16, and his sister, Ola, 11, were separated from their family. They hid in a nearby house. Thinking the attacks had stopped, Shadi, Fadi, and Ola left the house. Immediately upon leaving the house, they were targeted by Israeli forces. The three were killed instantly.
