16-year-old Bader Al Din Hashem Abu Manee’ from Gaza City was a funny boy. He loved telling jokes and speaking in rhyme. He was also very considerate. He liked tennis and football. He had a lovely singing voice. He used to sing at school parties for his teachers and school friends. “We miss Bader and his sense of humor,” said his sister.
On 24 August 2014, Bader left the house to pray the ‘Al Fair’ prayer at a mosque near his home. He met his neighbor Yahiya Abu Al ‘Amreen, 22, and they carried on together. Bader’s father was leaving the house when an Israeli drone fired a missile targeting Bader and Yahiya. Bader and Yahyia were killed and Bader’s father sustained shrapnel wounds.
