Short Link:
Name: Azmi Khaled Yousif Badwan
Date of birth: 22 March 1998
Date of death: 26 July 2014
Sexteen-year-old Azmi from the Al Sha’af neighborhood in the east of Gaza City was an active and kind child. He liked fun, laughing and joking. Azmi was not good at school. His family suffered economic hardships; so he left school to help his family. He worked as a vegetable seller. His ambition was to have his own business in the future.
Azmi’s family evacuated their house during intense Israeli shelling and relocated to an UNRWA school for shelter. Yousif Badwan’s house was bombarded, so he went along with his son Azmi to check the house. Azmi and his father were directly targeted by an Israeli drone. Azmi was seriously injured and his father was immediately killed. “Azmi remained on the ground for three days without getting medical help. He died of his wounds,” said his father.
