Name: Afnan Wesam Marzouq Shohaiber
Date of birth: 7 September 2005
Date of death: 17 July 2014
Eight-year-old Afnan from Gaza City was an intelligent child and an outstanding student. She liked to take care of her appearance and was particularly anxious about buying a new dress for Eid. She spent most of her time at her uncle's house and she loved drawing. Afnan wanted to become an English teacher when she grew up and she had a sweet voice. "I still miss her," said her aunt.
On 17 July 2014, Afnan and her cousins were feeding pigeons on the rooftop of their house. Without any warning, an Israeli warplane launched a missile in their midst. Three children including Afnan were killed instantly.
