Name: Haneen Hosam Aldeen Hamoudah
Date of birth: 17 April 2001
Date of death: 29 July 2014
Thirteen-year-old Haneen from the Al Sekah area in Jabalia in the north of the Gaza Strip was a very ambitious child. She wished to be an ophthalmologist to cure patients, particularly her sister. Haneen liked to draw. She liked computer programs and applications.
Her family was forcibly displaced during the war to a midtown house. Twenty three persons were inside the house. An Israeli shell fell near the house. Thinking it was a warning missile, everyone went out to the street. They were directly targeted. Haneen and her mother were immediately killed. “I miss my wife; we spent twenty seven years together. It was a hard and sad day,” said Haneen’s father. He is 50 years old.
