At approximately 4:30 pm on Wednesday 8 January 2014, a family feud erupted between two neighbors in Al Qasaseeb area in the west of the UNRWA clinic in Jabaliya refugee camp in North Gaza district. The feud developed and small arms were used. As a result, Saleem Abdel Hai Abu Ayyta, 14, was killed after sustaining a bullet wound. Medical sources stated that the bullet entered from his mouth and exited from his head. The police opened an investigation into the incident and arrested the suspects.
