Short Link:
On Thursday, 23rd May 2013, at approximately 10:00 am, the Gaza Internal Security Apparatus (ISA) summonsed Dr.
Ibrahim Khalil Al Abed Abrash, a prominent intellectual and former Minister of Culture in Salam Fayad’s government.
He is a resident of Tal Al Hawa neighborhood, west of Gaza City.
Abrash was interrogated for six hours - from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm - at the ISA office in front of the Islamic University.
Abrash’s arrest and interrogation came in response to political articles written by Abrash that criticize the government.
One piece in particular on Al Qadarawi’s visit to Gaza, brought accusations of opposition to the resistance.
Abrash was asked by the ISA to apologize for his writing; he refused.
On Sunday, 26 May 2013, he received another summons by the ISA, which he also refused to comply with.
