Short Link:
At approximately 11:05 am on Wednesday 18 January 2012, Israeli aircraft attacked agricultural lands located southeast of Beit Hanoun in North Gaza district.
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) then fired several artillery shells at a group of young Palestinian men who were in the same area.
As a result, Mohammed Shaker Ahmed Abu Oda, 22, was killed, and another person sustained critical injuries.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, the artillery shells were fired consecutively.
Ambulances waited for almost an hour until the International Committee of the Red Cross was able to coordinate with the Israeli side to allow them to enter the area and evacuate the injured to Beit Hanoun Hospital.
Medics stated that they found the injured persons in an area near the eastern separation fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel.
Also on Wednesday, around midday, three Israeli tanks moved into the area attacked; they withdrew at 12:25 pm on the same day.
