At approximately 11:00 am on Tuesday 10 January 2012, unknown persons started a fire at the entrance to the flat of Ahmed Abdel Fattah Naser, 56, a former Palestinian Legislative Council member.
The flat is on the fifth floor of Az-Zafer tower in Az-Zahra city, south of Gaza City.
According to Al Mezan’s field investigations, unknown persons poured flammable material around the entrance of the flat and lit it on fire.
The flat was empty; there was no furniture inside.
A resident of the tower stated that he saw signs of fire on the stairs at approximately 11:00 am.
He informed one of the workers who were inside the flat at the time.
As a result of the fire, the outside door and walls of the apartment entrance were partially damaged.
