At approximately 11:45 am on Tuesday 18 December 2011, three people from the An-Najjar family were injured when an unknown device exploded at the house of Mohammed An-Najjar in Khuza’a village in the east of Khan Younis district.
The three victims were injured as they were sorting iron and scrap that they had collected earlier to sell.
Al- Mezan has identified them as follows:
· Mohammed Ahmed An-Najjar, 52, sustained shrapnel wounds in his hands;
· His son Samer Mohammed An-Najjar, 26, sustained shrapnel wounds in his hands; and
· Ahmed Mohammed An-Najjar, 18, sustained shrapnel wounds in his back.
Medical sources described their injuries as moderate.
The police arrived at the scene of the incident and opened an investigation.
