At approximately 09:00 on Thursday 24 November 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested Iyad Sha’ban Ahmed Dawas, 39, while he was at the Erez crossing between Gaza and Israel.
According to Al Mezan's field investigations, on 26 October 2011, Dawas traveled to Jerusalem via Erez to receive medical treatment at the Al Makassed Hospital.
At approximately 20:00 on Thursday 24 November 2011, the IOF informed the Dawas relatives that he was being detained at Ashkelon prison.
Dawas is a baker in his family’s bakery.
He was still in detention at the time of publication at 10:30 on Sunday 4 December 2011.
