At approximately 12:00 on Thursday, 24 November 2011, two representatives from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) went to the office of the Palestinian Pharmacist’s Association, on Abu Haseera Street in the west of Gaza City.
They issued the manager a decision from the MoI reading: “Control over Palestinian Pharmacist’s Association must be handed to the MoI and a committee must be created to prepare for proper elections” (unofficial translation by Al Mezan).
Half an hour later, five persons appeared at the Association’s office presenting themselves as the preparation committee created and assigned by the MoI.
They made an inventory of the association’s belongings and asked the manager to sign the inventory.
He refused to sign and left the Association’s premises.
