At approximately 7:00 pm on Tuesday 8 November 2011, a civil defense team collected the body of Ramez ‘Attwa Ahmed Ash-Sha’er, 23, who had been working in a tunnel on the Gaza-Egypt border near the Al Brazil neighborhood in south Rafah. He died when the tunnel he was working in collapsed. Ash-Sha’er was pronounced dead on arrival at Abu Yousif An-Najjar Hospital.
