Short Link:
At approximately 10:00 am on Tuesday 9 August 2011, Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened fire on the northern and eastern parts of Wadi Gaza village.
As a result, Salma Saleem As-Sawarka, 74, sustained a bullet wound in the right thigh.
Medical sources at Shuhadaa Al Aqsa Hospital described her injury as moderate.
In her affidavit to Al Mezan, As-Sawarka stated that she left her house, which is located in Wadi Gaza village, and went to graze a flock of sheep (about 28 animals) in the eastern part of the village.
As-Sawarka stated that Kefaj Nasrallah Al Bahaisa, 14, accompanied her to graze the sheep.
When they were about 400 meters away from the separation fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel, in the piece of land that is located northeast of the village in the vicinity of the solid waste dump, the IOF opened heavy fire on them.
As a result, As-Sawarka was injured and eight of her sheep were killed.
Al Bahaisa was terrified and five of her sheep were killed.
