At approximately 9:30pm on Tuesday 17 May 2011, two masked armed men opened fire at Saif Majed Abu Zakkar, 20, while he was leaving a minimarket in block (H) in the Al Shabora neighborhood, in Rafah refugee camp in the south of the Gaza Strip.
As a result, Abu Zakkar was wounded from several bullets in the abdomen.
He was admitted to Abu Yousif An-Najjar Hospital in Rafah.
Then he was referred to the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Younis due to his critical injury.
The police arrived at the place of the incident, initiated an investigation into it, and arrested several suspects.
