At app. 10pm on Thursday 6 May 2010, Qusai Mahmoud Mohammed D'abas, 1.5, and his father, 25, were injured when a locally made explosive device (locally known as Aklam) exploded. The father and his son were at a wedding party for the As-Sayid family in Kanada neighborhood in the Tal As-Sultan area, west of Rafah. The father and his son were admitted to Abu Yousif An-Najar. The child was later referred to the European Gaza Hospital and his medical condition was described as critical. The police opened an investigation into the incident. This kind of Aklam is usually used at wedding parties as fireworks.
