At app. 10.45am on 16 April 2007, gunmen took over the car of the Ministry of Public Works' Under Secretary Mr. Ibrahim Redwan, while he was driving down the Bedouin village in north Gaza district and accompanied by Msalam Al Madhoun, a member of the Work Against Hunger Spanish organization. They were returning from a meeting in Em Nasr's Municipality on facilitating the Ministry of Works' technician staff work on preserving the sewage water basins in the village. The car was returned two hours later following the intervention of community figures.
