Unknown masked gunmen approached Dr.
Abu Tawahina's car in their two vehicles, at approximately 6:45pm on 2 March 2008.
The gunmen blocked his car, preventing him from moving, which was located near the Palestine Technical College in Al Basa neighborhood in northern Deir Al Balah.
According to the 47-year-old Director's testimony, the gunmen came out of their cars and surrounded his vehicle.
They forced him to exit his car and stand on the road.
One of them attacked him while the other opened fire.
As a result, one of the tires of the Director's car was shot.
A gunman threatened him with violence while referring to his work at the GCMHP before they retreated.
