At approximately 3:00 p.m., on Friday, 4 August 2023, the police in Rafah City arrested Yehya Mustafa Hammad, 41, while he was sitting with his friends in Abu Bakr Street, in the center of Rafah City. Also on the same day, at around 4:50 p.m., the police arrested Youssef Fawzi al-Goul, 32, while he was passing by Al-Awda Square in the city center.
Both detainees were interrogated before being placed in custody, and they were released at 11:00 p.m. on the same day.
Earlier that week, at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, 1 August 2023, the police in Rafah governorate arrested Abdullah Rami Al-Sudoudi, 15, and Mohammed Saleh Abu Jarbou, 28, from their residence in the Al-Brazil neighborhood in Rafah. They were interrogated, placed in custody, and then released at around 11:00 a.m. on the same day.
