23 April 2017
Short Link:
On 23 April 2017, Nariman Ali Abu Aida, 51-year old resident of Jabalia refugee camp, lost her life while in Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza city. She was denied access to the necessary medical treatment in the West Bank when Israeli authorities disallowed her from crossing their Erez. Even though she had a medical referral to receive the necessary care for her breast cancer, Israeli authorities kept her request for permission “under security consideration”. Three more applications by Abu Aida received the same result. Afterwards, she was allowed for once to cross to the Augusta Victoria Hospital, and when returned, she was no longer issued a new permit, despite her new four requests. Amid this Israeli delay of her permit, she finally lost her life.
