At 17:30 on Friday, 11 August 2017, Israeli occupation forces based to the east of the separation fence tear-gassed and opened fire at tens of children and young adults who were protesting near the fence. Different Palestinian factions called for a protest to show solidarity with Palestinians in Jerusalem. Five people, including four children, were injured. Al Mezan identified their names as follow: Abdulkarim Kayed Obaid, 16, injured by a tear-gas bomb that struck his right leg; Saleh Nahid Abu Ajwa, 16, injured by a tear-gas bomb that struck his head; Moatasem-Billah Ahmed Abu Dayyah, 13, injured by a tear-gas that struck the left side of his back; Yaser Ziad Abu Ramadan, 16, injured by a tear-gas bomb that struck his left hand; and Mohammed Jaber Abu Libda, injured by a tear-gas bomb that struck the left side of his back. They all were taken to the Indonesia Hospital, where medical staff reported that injuries ranged from light to moderate. Others who suffered from inhaling tear-gas were also treated at the hospital. IDF continued shooting at protesters until the evening of Friday.
